URGENT NEED FOR HOUSING
The Gold Coast needs 97 new homes each week to cater for newcomers to the area, a new report says. That Equates to a high rise every two weeks or a [800 home] housing estate every two months.
A snapshot of the Gold Coast, completed by PRD Nationwide , also revealed more than $41.9 Billion worth of development had been either proposed or begun as at September 2005.
Property analyst Bill Morris said he thought the figure was higher. "that figure works out to be about 5,000 homes a year. I would have said it would be about 6,000 a year" he said. |
